Well when you put it that way... I guess I have kinda been through a lot.

It's been almost six years since I woke up with Bell's Palsy. I have come a long way and learned a lot about myself. Some days I am really sad about what happened, but mostly these days I am actually kind of proud that I have gotten to where I am.


I have been through a lot. When I start to list it out or today when I was guesting on a podcast and my interviewer starts asking about the Bell's and the concussion, and and and.. I think to myself, "wow, yeah you kind of have been through a lot". And guess what, I made it.


And so will you.


There's nothing you can do to change it. This happened to you for a reason. Step into your light, ask yourself the deep questions to learn what you are meant to do next.


























I truly believe that there's a reason I got Bell's Palsy. And now I am thinking it's so I can bring my story and my point of view to people who have it too. I want you to know you are not alone. And even if you get stuck with symptoms forever, guess what - you're pretty amazing.


I mean, a lot of people are stressed, have suppressed immune systems etc. etc. etc. So why did I get it and they didn’t?

I think about that a lot but not from a “poor me” kind of place, but from a curiosity place. Lousie Hay says that Bell’s Palsy is came to me because I wasn’t using my voice, and it’s so true. I was doing all the things for all the people, except for me. I was taking care of others, allowing their feelings to matter more than mine.

I thought that made me stronger, because I was helping them be them. But what about me? What about you? Are you letting your voice and your feelings be “not as important”? It’s time to fix that. (Like now). Time to step up , be brave and live for yourself. I am still figuring it out, but I am on my way and it’s pretty nice.


I truly believe there is a reason I got Bell's Palsy. And now I am thinking it's so I can bring my story and my point of view to people who have it too. I want you to know you are not alone. And even if you get stuck with the symptoms, or some of them, forever, guess what - you're pretty amazing. And you'll make it 🧡.
